Hey you know (0.00 / 0)
there are more than three blogs covering the race. Might expand your horizons a bit just taking a look at the LeftyBlogs feed ...

I linked to 4 blogs about the race (0.00 / 0)
I'm subscribed to you- it's nothing personal. For this batch, there were no posts this week soley about the race from your blog and in the one that had links, they were more specifically covered in standalone posts linked here.

Open Left doesn't really count (0.00 / 0)
Neither does Miya (Kidding. She and I had a little pissing contest a few weeks ago but she does a great job.  She just put up something about the city crews removing Locke's illegal signs).

But I was referring less to myself -- who has tended to aggregate postings due to, you know, a full time job -- and more to people like David Ortez and Erik Vidor and Mary Benton and Nancy Sims and even Neil Aquino.  I take it you subscribe to them also ...?

The irony... (0.00 / 0)
...is that when the Great Orange Satan saw fit on Monday to write about the Houston Mayor's race, the one blog they linked to was BOR. Because as far as they know, it's the only blog in Texas.

I saw that (0.00 / 0)
And was equally irritated because I'm so not the source for analysis on Houston politics or the mayors race for people nationally looking for a local perspective. It's like we are one degree removed from Kevin Bacon or something. I certainly haven't sent anything California's way about this race.

They have a blind spot (0.00 / 0)
For whatever the reason, and for all of Kos' blather about building a national progressive blog network, their knowledge of Texas in particular is paper thin. Really, they're no better than the wire services as far as Texas is concerned. Which is a shame and a waste.

then again (0.00 / 0)
We do like to make politics overly complicated here.

Re-redistricting?
Primacaucus?
Sen. Indecision 2009, 2010, 2011, & 2012?

Oy.

I like to think of it... (5.00 / 1)
...as not being for noobs. :-)

Walked away from the campaign... (0.00 / 0)
I don't think it's a matter of losing control of the campaign so much as Gene Locke's just walking away from the campaign. Those who know him believe he "disengaged" at some point. Cutting off everyone. And merely "going through the motions." He will probably be smiling when he delivers the concession speech. And frowning if by chance he has to deliver a victory speech.

If you can't stand the heat, get out of the kitchen. It wasn't the heat so much as the firebombs tossed by the media. Some of which were tossed as a result of people around him handing the media the firebombs.

He's pretty much disgusted by it all. As is most everyone else. Annise Parker ran a divisive and nasty campaign which was aided and abetted by the media. Shades of what lies ahead.
