Why Do You Want Bill White to Run for Governor?

by: Michael Hurta

Mon Nov 23, 2009 at 05:28 PM CST

Today at a press conference in his hometown of Houston, Mayor Bill White told Texans, "I agree to consider running for Governor."

There will be many factors that will form his decision, but he specifically mentioned one: you.  Like any good statewide politician with a tough decision, he wants your input and advice.

Some Burnt Orange Report writers have already voiced a beilef through twitter that he should run for Governor.  In the coming days, the Burnt Orange Report staff will more soundly offer its opinions in this discussion.  Now, though, we want to hear from our readers.  So, tell us why you think Bill White should run for Governor or make other plans.  Then give him those same thoughts through his website.

Together, every Texan should influence our representatives and our government.  That starts here and today with a balding public servant named Bill White.

RE: Bill White is big time. (0.00 / 0)
Bill White is big time.  Bill White is a true Democrat who appeals to those who we need to appeal to.  Bill White was a successful Mayor.  He has shown he can run a real campaign.

I don't think Kay Bailey is going anywhere if she loses the GOP Governor primary or the general election And if she wins the GOP primary and the general election for Governor, she ain't allowing Perry to appoint her successor, thus, if he lost to Kay Bailey, Bill White would be well positioned to run for the US Senate after Kay Bailey was sworn in, appointed her successor, and called a special election.
