Rick Perry: Obama is "Hell-bent on Taking America Towards a Socialist Country"

by: Phillip Martin

Thu Nov 12, 2009 at 01:34 PM CST

In his remarks, Rick Perry calls for doubling the size of tea parties. This is from last Friday's tea party, which took place (as you can tell) directly outside the Texas Capitol. Rick Perry's campaign was signing up people -- literally -- just outside of this shot:

Rick Perry's call to double the size of these violent crowds is far more dangerous than anything he may make up about what's going on in Washington today. Perry has no sense of self-respect -- for himself, or for the state of Texas -- when he makes these calls of action.

As a resource for those who may visit or pass along this post, I wanted to re-post something the Texas Democratic Party recently put out -- the "Top Ten Rick Perry Failures." Here they are -- with full resources, links, facts, and talking points on each page that is linked:

As someone over at DK observed (5.00 / 1)
Perry is obviously mentally unstable.

He'd better be careful with those teabaggers.  It seems that like the Republican Party, TP members are at each others throats.

It's all about the money of course.

rumors must have been true (3.00 / 1)
there have been rampant rumors for years now that perry had a special closeness to teabaggers, i'm starting to believe it now.

what a mo-ron.

i can't fully disagree with Libby...something is definitely going on here. i understand staking out an ideological territory, but wowzer! he is surely experiencing some sort of disturbance in his chemical balance.

but he also believes the earth is 2,000 years old and that dinosaurs and people lived together...so i don't know if you can actually slide from that point.

Maybe its due to stress of running against (0.00 / 0)
KBH.  Maybe he's super pandering to the teabaggers b/c he knows she can't get at them, though if Perry had them locked up tight he wouldn't need to pander to them.  Knowing from the moderate Republicans (i.e. the non-crazy ones) I know in Houston, the more he shifts right, the less likely it is that urban moderates will vote for him.  Many think he's an idiot as it is.

Or maybe Perry is so corrupted and consumed by power that the mere thought of losing terrifies him.

Go figure.  The stuff above is just nuts.
