Who is our TX-10 Candidate?

by: txdem10

Has anyone read the latest posts about the Jack McDonald vs Michael McCaul race for the Texas 10th District?   We deserve a strong, progressive Democratic candidate in a district which is trending Blue.  Increasingly, it looks like McDonald has the same "I'm not really a Republican" problem plaguing Tom Schieffer's candidacy.

I have found a few documents that I find very surprising and require some answers.  A short ten years ago, Jack McDonald was registered as a Republican in New York City where he worked for a prominent Wall Street law firm. See the link below:

Okay, so he was once registered GOP - I'd like to know why and what changed his heart and I'm sure I can accept those answers.  What deserves a little more explanation is why he was repeatedly donating to George W Bush - one big contribution coming as late as 2003. See the link below:

Our last TX-10 candidate, Larry Joe Doherty recently put his support behind Jack McDonald, but is anyone asking any questions about McDonald's past political affiliations, his donations, and his positions on key progressive issues? I think it is very important that we know who he is, what he stands for, and where he is going to lead our Congressional District, if elected.

question for you txdem10 (3.00 / 2)
Can you point us to your public record of contributions and your voters registration record? I think that's a fair question to ask if your first post on this site, with no prior comments or interaction anywhere on it, is to simply post up documents that seem to be more in the style of a political hit piece.

I figure at some point republican operatives from McCaul's campaign (or any Republican campaign) might come here to pose as Democrats to distract from their right-wing agenda. Linking or sharing in a pdf your contributions and voting record I'm sure would share your bond with other members of this community.

Because both this 'txdem10' account and the 'tejas2red' account which is the only one that recommended this post, were both created from the same IP in Dallas 2 hours apart, and the later user a half hour after this post was made.

is there another candidate? (0.00 / 0)
McDonald is the only candidate I've heard of. Ok, so our ongoing experience with the Blue Cross Dems (stole that from a sign at the parking lot rally) shows that it isn't always true that any Dem is better than a Republican. I say that during the endorsemant process, we get some firm committments on issues that we care about. On yet another hand, maybe a BlueDog that I disagree with would at least return e-mails. McCaul's office is as bad at writing back as Cornyn's, so a conservative Dem that would at least talk to me would be better that what I have now.

Anyone that doesn't have Clear Channel connections... (0.00 / 0)
We need to get any and all candidates that have connections to Clear Channel out of office, but I'm not sure that connections to Wall Street at this point and time is any better.  Did we clarify whether or not this was fact?
