| My goal for the Walk this year is $2200, since the Walk is 22 years old. I've raised $600 so far, and have been the top fundraiser for over a week. A really neat new thing this year - my friend Lisa donated a quilt in memory of her brother and they are having a raffle - here is the link where you can buy tickets for that: http://www.asaustin.org/site/P...
and here is my fundraising page: http://www.asaustin.org/site/T...
If you can't donate or buy a raffle ticket, please consider walking. It is a huge, fun event, and this is a cause that people really want to donate to. The cause is worthy, you will be helping out people in Central Texas with support, meds, food and other basics of life. And it will be in October, when (we hope) it will have cooled off, so it'll be a nice day to go for a walk.
As soon as they set up a PFLAG team, I'll be on it (hey, the "F" in that acronym also stands for friends, so I belong in PFLAG) but in the meantime, look for me on top of the leader board at http://www.aidswalkaustin.org. Either register yourself, join a team, buy a raffle ticket or donate -- but please help out this very worthy cause. |
