- We're hearing word that former Congressional candidate John Courage is going to run against Jeff Wentworth for the state senate in SD-25 which spans I-35 from Austin to San Antonio.
- The City of Irving will have to create single member city council districts by order of a federal judge as their all at large system has been found to violate the Voting Rights Acts for minority representation.
- There is an East Texas Democratic Summit next month out in Tyler. Good to see- RSVP on Facebook if you want to go.

- Texas applies for SUPERTRAIN funds. Woot! And speaking of alternative transportation (are trains alternative again?), here's a video of how you should lock your bicycle if you have one.

- AIDS Services of Austin announced that they are the recipient of a five-year, $1.6 million grant. The funds are being used to create Project Fresh Start, which will provide substance abuse and HIV prevention services to African American men and women in Travis County who have been released from prison or jail within the past two years. - A condo development off Enfield in Austin, which has been stalled for 2 years, appears to be moving once again. The caveat is that with the new owner, they very well may just tear everything down they started and build a differently designed complex that's worse.
