Texas Round-Up

by: Karl-Thomas Musselman

Tue May 09, 2006 at 03:56 PM CDT

  • Carol 4-Names is poised to submit 150,000 signatures. No word from Kinky as of yet.

  • Jim Stauber has a new website, candidate for HD-20 in Williamson County.

  • Land Commissioner Jerry Patterson is raising money for an Irag Internet Cafe.

  • C-SPAN asks online video providers to pull the Stephen Colbert clip as they hold the copyright to it. They are upset that the one thing in the last 5 years that normal people were actually interested in watching from them, may mean a misser chance to actually make money. And again, McBlogger expresses my true emotions.

  • Robert Talton for Congress? I pity you residents of TX-22.

  • Why Mommy is a Democrat is back in the BOR BlogAds section. I have to say I really love them, so check out the book.

Pray for Talton (0.00 / 0)
to get it.

He's the freakiest of right-wing freaks.  Even Republicans who worshiped Tom DeLay would run away from this guy.

And if he does get it, then Janette Sexton -- who counts among her progressive bonafides being a Dean Ranger in New Hampshire -- is running for an open seat.

That's like a two-for-one.

Agreed (0.00 / 0)
I want to say I remember Janette for some reason. At least her name is uber familiar. Kick ass!

Not necessarily (0.00 / 0)
The growing number of Republican voters in District 22 who may not like Tom De Lay's politics have just the same always liked his "old time religion" and Robert Talton might be overwhelmingly voted into office just on that basis. He likes that "old time relgion" as well.

And that, by the way, was probably the best indication that Tom De Lay would have won in November.  Maybe not by a wide margin. But he would have won. People in Ft. Bend County carry a Bible with them when they go to the polls. And they tend to look at going to the polls as a religious as well as a civic obligation. And you're fooling yourself if you don't think they don't. Which raises the question of why Tom De Lay decided to resign and not seek another term.  And also raises the question of whether a Democrat can win in the district.  It will depend on how many Democrats in the other counties turn out at the polls.

Actually, 22 is swinging more D (0.00 / 0)
DeLay should have done much better in 2004 than he did.

Kinky has at least 100,000 (0.00 / 0)
Check out My West Texas.

What about Daddys? (0.00 / 0)
As a SAHD, I'm offended! Oh-FEND-ed, I say!

I want to read my daughter "Why Daddy is a Democrat."
