Get Down To The Capitol. NOW.

I just returned from the Reagan office building, where I signed in against HB 125 and SB 362, the Voter ID Supression legislation. Bad news: when I arrived, the room was chock-a-block full of folks in favor of voter suppression.

There's still plenty of time to go sign in, so please head down to the Reagan building and make your voice heard against this legislation.

Where: Reagan Office Building, 105 W. 15th, Room 120.

When: Right now. There's a HUGE line of people waiting to testify, so get down there and sign in against HB 125 (pink sheet) and SB 362 (green sheet).

I saw a lot of folks on the side of voting rights in the room, but I also saw way, way too many people who want to make it harder for honest, hard-working Americans to vote. So please, take 10 minutes out of your day and go make your voice heard, even if it's on a piece of paper.

  1. Reports are…
that Republicans bussed a whole bunch of Hispanic voters in to testify in favor of Voter Suppression legislation.

Smith isn't smart enough to orchestrate that himself he had the Texas Republican Party do that for him.  He's just playing along.

Get down there and testify if you can.  Smith made it awful hard for hard working, mainstream Texans to voice opposition to this horrendous Bill–especially when we have escalating utility costs and out of control insurance rates.

  2. Welcome Walt!
The Capitol has become the latest Fantasyland theme park. There's Goofy!  Nope, it's Dan Patrick.  Easy mistake to make.

  3. Signed my cards
I wish I could have stuck around to give some testimony, but I was able to listen to Anita deliver the League of Women Voters' statement.  Coolness.

Thanks for the reminder.  I'm on record, now, and I feel good about it.
