Anyone Seen Carole Strayhorn?

by: Karl-Thomas Musselman

Mon Mar 30, 2009 at 05:34 PM CDT

So this week I've finally started seeing some yardsigns for Carole Stayhorn scattered around town for her Mayoral campaign. Of course, of the dozen or so I've seen, half of those were in one yard.

So where is Carole? Railroad Commissioner Michael Williams has found her!

Twitter: Just saw a "Carol Keeton Rylander for Comptroller" billboard on I-30 in Fort Worth. Wasn't that 2002?

Carole Strayhorn- out of touch with Austin and stuck in the past? Sounds about right.

One Carole Yard Sign spotted in South Austin, (0.00 / 0)
in 78745 off of Shiloh. Five Leffingwell signs in nearby area, zero for McCracken. Leffingwell is winning both the big and little sign wars in South Austin at this point.

Leffingwell is crushing the sign competition (0.00 / 0)

I've got to hand it to Leffingwell's team - they are dominating the signage/visibility in central Austin.  Been seeing more Carole for Austin signs in the past week, too.

She was out at the Allandale picnic... (0.00 / 0)
... this last weekend. She came by, introduced herself, and we all shook hands.  When she walked away we went back to the discussion of whether we'd be voting for McCracken or Leffingwell.

What a joke.

I wonder if she thinks she's actually gonna be able to win just throwing up tons of ads late in the game.

At least this is probably the last we'll ever see of her.  It will be very hard for her to recover from losing this one.

I saw that billboard last week! (0.00 / 0)
I was driving to Fort Worth from Dallas on I-30 and sure enough there's an old Carole Keeton Rylander sign!

There's also a few buildings with old Democratic political signs at the end of the Dallas North Tollway by Wycliff / Harry Hines that you can see when entering the tollway driving northbound that might be as old as 2002.

Big signs along Mopac frontage (0.00 / 0)
NB exit for Enfield. Also a few out here in (shudder) Westlake.

Doesn't the DOT have a law about signs being up during certain time periods, or is that just local city ordinance?

Strayhorn signs are popping up (0.00 / 0)
I've seen them along Shoal Creek, in NW Hills, and even in East Austin. Leffingwell is definitely winning the sign wars, but Strayhorn is giving McCracken a run for 2nd. (Ditto for the election, IMO)
