TX-32: Pete Sessions Wants the GOP to Act Like the Taliban

by: Phillip Martin, Progress Texas

Thu Feb 05, 2009 at 09:56 AM CST

UPDATE: 269,000 JOBS WOULD COME TO TEXAS UNDER THE ACT -- CLICK HERE FOR SOURCE.

Read more at this at Sessions Watch -- a blog devoted to following the rantings and ravings of Sessions.

I'm not even making this up. From Hotline:

Frustrated by a lack of bipartisan outreach from House Democratic leaders, Rep. Pete Sessions (R-TX), chairman of the National Republican Congressional Committee, said today that the GOP should look to the Taliban for guidance in conveying its position on the stimulus package and, more broadly, in working to make the party's views on issues known. [...]

"Insurgency, we understand perhaps a little bit more because of the Taliban," Sessions said during a meeting with Hotline editors. "And that is that they went about systematically understanding how to disrupt and change a person's entire processes.

"And these Taliban -- I'm not trying to say the Republican Party is the Taliban. No, that's not what we're saying. I'm saying an example of how you go about [sic] is to change a person from their messaging to their operations to their frontline message. And we need to understand that insurgency may be required when the other side, the House leadership, does not follow the same commands, which we entered the game with."

You need a model for insurgency -- HOW ABOUT THE FOUNDING FREAKIN' FATHERS!

I'm so happy he is being targeted by the DCCC.

Truly an OMG moment.  Voters of TX-32 must be incredibly proud that they have re-elected a Taliban admirer, and sympathizer.

I Share Your Views On Mr. Sessions--- (0.00 / 0)
But the Founding Fathers had an armed revolution. Is that your suggestion for what Mr. Sessions should advocate?

That wasn't the real revolution (5.00 / 1)
The real revolution came from the Declaration of Independence. It came from the Federalist papers. It came from Jefferson and Adams and Marbury vs. Madison. That was the revolution of the founding fathers.

WTF? (5.00 / 1)
So Pete Sessions gets a woodie from the Taliban. A few weeks ago I read some comment from Rick Warren that his flock should emulate the devotion of the Hitler Youth. Why is it about those who hate democracy that draws the affection of these wingnuts?

Hope is not a plan.

Run Rafael! Run! (5.00 / 1)
Here's to hoping the DCCC is drafting Rafael Anchia to runs against Sessions.  No, I haven't heard any rumors about this potential matchup, but boy it would neutralize the NRCC, and Anchia would be a fantastic congressman.

P.S. Phillip and David--I think you both made a typo.  Since Sessions is in the House, I suspect that the DCCC is targeting Sessions, not the DSCC.

I suggest (5.00 / 1)
the GOP move to Pakistan, then.

I saw this on Daily Kos & posted on Sessions Watch (0.00 / 0)

I'll add the link to the post.

What a MORON! (0.00 / 0)
No body is that dumb!

Check out the rambling sentence structure, too (0.00 / 0)
Every time I hear him speak at a debate, I start feeling like I've had a stroke or something, because I start realizing that somebody's talking, but I can't follow the conversation.

Then, the other person gets up there and it's all clear again, and I think, "Okay, it's not me, it's PETE SESSIONS!" lol!

Show Pete You are a Counter-Insurgent (0.00 / 0)

Whether I or someone else is the standard-bearer for the next cycle, the Democratic nominee will need money to beat Pete Sessions.

Pete may be the gift that never stops giving gaffes, but he has a district gerrymandered to his advantage.

Someone has started a TX-32nd fund over at ActBlue.  http://www.actblue.com/entity/...

Whoever is the nominee will inherit any funds in it.

So, please let Pete know you care about stopping his insurgency in its tracks.

And if you want to see Pete's incredible brand of insanity in action, please view our only 2008 congressional debate at http://www.ericroberson.org/me...

Thanks,
Eric Roberson
