TX-10: Bill Clinton Records Robocall for Larry Joe Doherty

by: David Mauro

Sun Nov 02, 2008 at 09:33 AM CST

President Bill Clinton has recorded a robocall for Larry Joe Doherty that will be used on Monday.

In the call, Clinton reminds voters that, "Tuesday is the day. It all comes down to who shows up to vote."

Clinton calls Doherty, the Democratic nominee against Republican Mike McCaul,"a real Democrat who's standing up for health care, education, and fighting to get our economy back on track."

The call, presumably sent to Democratic leaning households, could also provide a slight boost in turnout in the district that could benefit candidates like Donnie Dippel along with all of our statewide candidates.

A robocall from Bill Clinton is further proof that Mike McCaul is in trouble and national Democrats are starting to smell blood in TX-10.

Hurray for Bill Clinton! (0.00 / 0)

I'm hopeful that Larry Jo can win this seat with the high early voting turnout in Travis and Harris counties. The Statesman said the Travis turnout was 4 to 1 Dems. Here to keeping McCaul here at home and sending Doherty to Washington. That's what I call "Texas Justice"!

Thank you Bill Clinton (0.00 / 0)
I hope the momentum for Larry Joe put's him across the winning line ahead of McCaul.

What's with McCaul's campaign budget? (0.00 / 0)
McCaul has tons of money, and can raise plenty more if he's reelected, but he hasn't been spending it. I'm told that his TV budget is about the same as Doherty's, with network ads in the Austin area and some cable in Houston. He's scared enough of Doherty to (finally!) spend some time in the district and moderate his votes a little, but he's hoarding his cash as if he were running unopposed.

I just don't get it.

Would like to (3.00 / 1)
suggest that Obama recruit billydanielus for his 250,000 civilian "politically correct" security force.  Their motto. . . "If the truth hurts, erase it"

Interesting... (0.00 / 0)
How funny that all of the comments that have been here since last night have not been RATED and still aren't  DELETED...seems that Glazer loves to show his bias on the site, and only gets rid of the comments that don't pertain to his views.

Maybe one day our political system will be able to
handle all sides of the debate...seems like this site still hasn't gotten control of that.

Has Bill Clinton ever met Larry Joe Doherty??? If so, he might think differently about his decision to record on his behalf...just because he is a democrat and a TV show celebrity doesn't make him the right man for the tough job in Congress.

So let's take our Congressman of SUBSTANCE and CHARACTER back to Washington to work for us...and leave the only "character" in the race at home.

McCaul '08!

Thanks Bill (0.00 / 0)
Let's send McCaul packing!
