So long capitalism

by: AggieDemGramma

Everybody cheered when Communism finally slipped into the Great Cowpie of History in the 1990s, but has anyone noticed lately that Raw Capitalism (that darling of the conservative set) has likewise, in the past couple of months, slithered onto the list of failed social experiments?

The truth is, pure concepts (governments run all one way or another) just don't suit the human animal.  Some of them might work, if they weren't run and crewed by flawed individuals.  Communism didn't work; Facism really didn't work, and now Capitalism has also been shown to be a failure.

Politics (that dirty bird) and compromise are the answer to governing diverse individuals, groups, and ethnicities.  So, shut up and enjoy Democracy, why don't you?

Representative Democracy (0.00 / 0)

It is obvious that you do not understand our system of government.  The founders feared democracy.  We do not live in a democracy.  This is a republic; a political order in which the supreme power lies in a body of citizens who are entitled to vote for officers and representatives responsible to them.

The Texas Constitution states, "All political power is inherent in the people, and all free governments are founded on their authority, and instituted for their benefit.  The faith of the people of Texas stands pledged to the preservation of a republican form of government."

We live in a representative democracy, not a democracy.  That distinction makes a huge difference that you obscure by your comment "shut up and enjoy Democracy."  It is apparent you are another victim of a government education.  Just saying it don't make it so.
