What else is there to say?

Show Republicans that you're ready to fight back in Harris County by donating $20.08 today!

I might give $20.08 to Sylvester Turner (0.00 / 0)
But he's the only one I would of the ones you featured. Sorry but Baby Snooks has scruples. And follows the money trail. And I don't like Democrats who are running with Republican money. If I wanted Republicans in office, I would vote for Republicans.

ok time out (5.00 / 1)
We're less than a month away from the elections, I'm all aboard team unity, and I'm done criticizing fellow Democrats because we're all working together incredibly well right now and I'm completely psyched going into this election.  I seriously can't wait to vote this year.

BUT - have you ever once looked at a Turner finance report?  I have no idea what your scruples are, but there's a healthy chunk of Harris county Dems with Republican money in their campaign account that's now being spent to turn out the Democratic vote.  Turner is one of them.  And at this juncture, I am 100% behind spending every dime of that Republican money turning out Democratic votes.

I am with you Joe (5.00 / 1)
Use R money to turn out D voters.  Sounds like a rather clever and useful plan to me. I can't wait to dial, click and cast my ballot for a straight D. ticket.

Sylvester's Republican money.... (0.00 / 0)
There is Ned Holmes. Who gives to everyone. There is Bob Perry. Did the Noriegas return his campaign contribution? He also gives to everyone who will take it. He just gives the big bucks to Republicans. So far none of the Democrats are selling. Not to him anyway. There is the Texans for Lawsuit Reform PAC. Some Democrats support lawsuit reform. The attorneys who don't obviously like the big bucks. Very little of which goes to victims. Wake up to reality. I see very little Republican money behind Sylvester Turner.  But lots of it behind quite a few others.

All that money isn't going to help turn out Democratic votes in Harris County. There are less registered voters in 2008 than there were in 2004. And probably less Democrats.

I'm seriously trying to restrain myself (0.00 / 0)
I have no idea what you are talking about, and I don't think you do either.  First off, with Turner, he had a fundraiser tonight at Hotel ZaZa with some huge GOP names (to be fair there were a good chunk of Dems). I don't care, because he's got an HCDP office in his district (in fact I think it's now the headquarters post-Ike), he's contributing to the good causes and he's working hard to help Democrats win in Harris county and Texas.  That's awesome, and like I said earlier, every Republican dollar spent helping Democrats is fantastic.  I honestly applaud his work.

And to rehash a primary issue - yes, the Noriega's returned the money.

Finally - please explain to me which Republican dollars are good, and which Republican dollars are bad.  Which Republican issues are good, and which are bad?  Some Dems support tort reform, so it's great to take their money?  What about your favorite Democrat that voted for the bankruptcy bill?  That's where you draw the line?

How about Hubert Vo, that you attacked?  He voted perfect on every issue I can think of. Turner held Craddick's gavel when the House was stripped of democracy.  I'm happy with both of them right now, but you want to tear down one in particular.  Where is your line?

I don't see the Republican money... (0.00 / 0)
I see Republicans. But I see a lot of Republicans actually endorsing Ellen Cohen. The lines are blurred. Mine are not. I don't like blurred lines. I have yet to see anyone prove that Sylvester Turner is anything but a Democrat. Any more than anyone proved that Ron Wilson was anything but a Democrat.  Both stood up to the good old boys. The good old white boys.

As for Hubert Vo, I assume you would support Charles Manson if he voted the way you wanted your representative to vote?

As for the big Democratic money it never seems to flow except with the Clintons and Arthur Schechter. A pattern.  And sorry but I believe funding a US senatorial race is more important than funding a state senatorial race.

As I said Democrats have a way to go. And I am glad the Noriegas returned the money.  No doubt no one noticed the name on the check when it came in. They took it. Glad they returned it but they still took it.

powerful video (0.00 / 0)
Whoever produced this video deserves a big shout out.  This communicates very well the progress of Democrats in Harris County and the need for more.  It makes the viewer believe that getting involved would enable them to be a part of the success.

Kudos to Bill Kelly and Dan DeRozier (0.00 / 0)
The key to the momentum that Democrats have assumed goes to a group of fiery, young folks and that video was put together by their leader, Bill Kelly (head of the coordinated campaign) and our technical genius Dan DeRozier

Lots of good folks are giving it their all in Harris County, this season for the first time in  a long time, but it is truly inspiring to see all of the young folks who are in leadership positions and making the calls which seem to be pulling the party elders out of the ditches up on the main highway along with everyone else.  For the first time in a long time, we all seem to be going down the highway in the same direction and for the most part, all the egos have been put in check for a bit.

I'm giving $20.08 right now (0.00 / 0)
to turn Harris County Blue.  A fantastic job has been done by all of you, and I look forward to my hometown being the next shiny blue dot on the Texas map next November.
