Wal-Mart Moms Know Better

by: Libby Shaw

Thu Sep 11, 2008 at 02:53 PM CDT

Cross posted on Texas Kaos.

Sarah Palin isn't who she says she is and most of us very practical, common sense and rationally thinking and (the D.C. punditry's so-called Wal-Mart) Moms know it. Even the deeply religious (though perhaps not the fundamentalist extremist) Moms sense it. Palin is breaking too many rules.  She is trashing our collectively perceived code of conduct in the same fashion that W. walks all over the U.S. Constitution and lies about Iraq.  The over-the-top attacks and bullying lies are sending off alarm bells.   McCain and Palin are beginning to act and sound in an alarming and rather insane fashion.

Why is Palin going this low when she could serve as a feminist role model for women who would like to serve in politics?

For all of her so-called sizzle, Moms like me are beginning to think Sarah Palin's level of arrogance is worse than W.'s.  She, like him, insults the American people by lying to us.  She and McCain must think we are all stupid.

Who is Sarah Palin, really?   For starters it seems that she has a problem with telling the truth. Sound familiar?

As we all know by now, she lied about the bridge to  nowhere.
According to MSNBC's Chris Matthews, Palin continues to spin her bridge fairy tale. He reports that she openly lied about it seven times when on the campaign trail.

She paints herself as a reformer, however Palin, when mayor, hired a high powered D.C. lobbyist, one with ties to the jailed Abramoff,  to bring
home pork for her tiny town.

The so called reformer has also surrounded herself with Bush's D.C. people.  How about that for more of the same?

Bragging about her credentials as a fighter for reform and against lobbyists and the fat cats in big oil, Palin is the queen of a welfare state.

Wal-Mart Moms believe in the rule of law.  No one is above the law.  However, there are some exceptions, apparently, where Republicans are concerned.  As with W., Palin thinks she is exempt from the rule of law in  certain cases.

Wal-Mart Moms do not use their influence to fire relatives or people they don't like.

Wal-Mart Moms don't stay in their homes while charging the state per-diem for travel.

Wal-Mart Moms would not ask their town librarians to ban certain books.  This is unconstitutional and most Moms know it.

Wal-Mart Moms do not believe the government should interfere with another woman's personal choices and family matters.  They do not try to mislead others about their religious beliefs.

Wal-Mart Moms do not unfairly attack and lie about their opponents.  This is what naughty girls do in middle school.   And vicious ones like Tonya Harding, who must win at any cost, will do, even it means sending one's husband to physically attack the competition.

McCain and Palin sunk to even a lower level than Harding in their most recent smear ad.

John McCain is a coward who is hiding behind his hired attack dog, Palin's skirts.  He's too scared to fight Obama on his own.  So much for heroism.   Maybe McCain was a hero 25 years ago but right now he is nothing more than a mere yellow bellied chicken.

Wal-Mart Moms do not allow themselves to be used by guys to do their dirty work.   They have more pride than this.  Their children deserve better role modeling, especially their daughters.

Wal-Mart Moms do not want the likes of McCain to gin up more unnecessary wars in which he will send their children to fight.   Meanwhile, back in D.C. the children of the fat cats and war profiteers attend Ivy League schools.

Moms are sick of fake, diversionary and hypocritical "scandals."  Suddenly John McCain, who said in 1993 that Hillary Clinton 's national health care plan was like lipstick on a pig is outraged b/c Obama said McCain's plans for the economy are like lipstick on a pig.  He attempted, but failed, to convince people like you and me that in some twisted fashion, Obama called Palin a pig.   What an insult to the intelligence of the American people.

When Bill Clinton was President, John McCain trashed Chelsea Clinton, a teenager at the time,  Hillary Clinton and Janet Reno with a remark that I will not repeat.  McCain, who has asserted that woman should not earn as much as men, is suddenly outraged about "sexism?"  The disingenuous flip flopper also does not support heath care insurance for children or insurance coverage for birth control pills, though he does for a guy's Viagra.   How's that for a little sexism?

Wal-Mart Moms would never sink this low.

How do I know?

I am a working Wal-Mart, Sam's and Target Mom, a former PTA board Mom, PTA fundraiser Chair Mom, soccer Mom, little league Mom and basketball Mom.  I am merely one of millions like me.  And we are sick of listening to lying and insulting garbage like this:

It will be a cold day in hell before I'd vote for any person remotely like McCain or Palin.  I don't vote for liars, hypocrites, crooks, frauds and fakes.  Eight years of that was more than enough for me.

This Wal-Mart/Target/Sams Mom expects change, hope for the futures of our children and viable, long-term solutions to the problems that plague our economy, energy and national security.

This is the guy we can believe in.  He will deliver.
