Gene Kelly and why I think he should be our candidate for Senator

by: The Trey

Thu Mar 30, 2006 at 00:03 PM CST

1) He's not George Bush
2) He's alive... or at least we think he is since no one to my knowledge has ever seen him, you know, campaign
3) He won't disturb us too much with nonsense like mailers, ads and press releases
4) He makes a very good dirty martini (unconfirmed)
5) HE'S A NICE GUY AND PEOPLE SEEM TO LIKE HIM

Flame away, boys and girls!

You should believe me when... (0.00 / 0)
I tell you I'm going to do something.

I made it too sarcastic (I won't say funny since on second reading I realize it's not even near my best work)so no one is buying it.

Damn. I was kind of hoping to come back to 60 comments all which were demanding I be excommunicated from the Democratic Party.

I shoulda put something about Bob in there. That would have at least keyed up Sean-Paul!

Bob Gammage Endorses Gene Kelly (3.00 / 1)
Did you read the DMN article that just came out???

Dude. (0.00 / 0)
Trey!!!!

LOL.

Dude. I didn;t think you would do it.

Phillip Martin is the man.

[ Parent ]
K-T! that's TOMORROW'S DMN! (0.00 / 0)
you weren't supposed to write anything about that! He's been doing all this work for Radnofsky just to get close to her!

Oh, and Bob is also endorsing Alex Castano in HD47. And Jennifer Gale in the Austin mayoral election.

And he's setting puppies on fire...

I wish (3.00 / 1)

I am SO running the Treaty Oak in 2008 (5.00 / 1)
Against someone... It's numbers in the poll are just too damn strong!

LOL!!! (0.00 / 0)
It's because it's on BAYLOR!  Baylor has more TX Govs (all Democratic) than ANY other college.  I actually cannot think of a single elected Republican that has come from Baylor... I'm sure some HAVE, but wow...

Ok, I'm off my Baylor kick (for now!).

For you UT people, is ANYONE recruiting Vince Young to run for office while in the NFL?  I'm from Oklahoma, where we've had more former Oklahoma football players serve in Congress than in jail... barely (and if you remember Switzer you remember why jail was such a common occurance ;) ).  However, with the Republican corruption in DC hopefully we can bridge that gap. :)

[ Parent ]
No, the Treaty Oak on Baylor at 5th St:) (0.00 / 0)
I know you're all about Baylor but this ISN'T a tree in Waco... it's the one here in Austin. Those are all Republican trees in Waco and will likely be running against the Treaty Oak.

I also hear there may be two independent trees in the race but I haven't been able to verify that.

Well... (0.00 / 0)
Is this tree "Republican Lite" and so weak that it'll bend whatever way the wind is blowing or is this tree strong enough to stand up to the corrupt wind that's blowing from Washington DC to Austin, TX!  Bad joke, i know... :)

[ Parent ]
It depends (0.00 / 0)
...who is he endorsing for TDP chair?

better question (0.00 / 0)
who did he endorse for governor?

Please read the Community Guidelines and How to Rate Comments.

To both questions... (0.00 / 0)
IT'S staying out of the race for Chair though IT is extremely fond of Glen Maxey IT'S never met Urbina-Jones or Richie and looks forward to seeing them soon, or at least receiving some mailers since IT'S a 3D tree.

As for the Governor's race, IT was a Gammage supporter and even had signs up on  IT'S trunk. However, the primaries are over and IT'S enthusiastically supporting Bell.

There is some bad blood between IT and Strayhorn left over from the poisoning incident. I'm not sure what it's all about but as soon as I know I'll fill y'all in.

GO TREATY OAK!
