2008 Railroad Commission Runoff by County

by: Karl-Thomas Musselman

Wed Apr 09, 2008 at 08:06 PM CDT

I've created a set of three spreadsheets which may be of interest to the BOR community based upon yesterday's Democratic primary runoff in the Railroad Commission race.

The three tabs include the results by county ordered by:

  1. Turnout
  2. Percent Vote for Dale Henry
  3. Percent Vote for Mark Thompson

Click here to view the online spreadsheet

I've marked the winning percentage in green for each candidate by county. Have fun!

Any thoughts (0.00 / 0)
as to why Thomson won?

He got more votes. (3.00 / 1)
Sorry, I thought it was funny.

Really, that's my question too (3.00 / 1)
Why did Thompson get more votes?  He even won Travis.  I've never even heard about Thompson before the primary.

[ Parent ]
Didn't he get booed ... (0.00 / 0)
off the stage at the Austin SD Convention? We sat through a lot of speeches and I'm pretty sure he was the only one booed off the stage.

But now he's our nominee so unless something happens he's better than what we got (I hope). Kind of follows the line of reasoning that he may be a insert name but he's our insert name.

I must have been outside smoking (0.00 / 0)
I don't remember anyone being booed of the stage.  I did a fair amount of booing when Dawna Dukes got up talking about being a Democrat.

Giant Map time (0.00 / 0)

Thompson in red, Henry in blue

baaahh (0.00 / 0)
wires crossed

Thompson in blue
Henry in red

[ Parent ]
Webb county, interesting (0.00 / 0)
Webb was the only county with both
(a) large population , and
(b) turnout better than pathetic

Oddly enough, they didn't vote the "machine politics 95%" that is expected in the Valley

Local runoff (0.00 / 0)
The RRC race wasn't the reason for turnout

[ Parent ]
true (0.00 / 0)
I think they had a sheriffs runoff and a county commissioners race among others.
