TX-Sen: Out of State View

by: Bob Brigham

( - promoted by Phillip Martin)

I know the vast majority of BOR readers and participants live in Texas.

I don't live in Texas.

But I want to tip my hat to BOR regardless. Thanks for kickass coverage this primary and effective activism -- even if there is still more to do against Craddick and company.

It now comes down to Lt. Col. Rick Noriega. I, for one, am confident John Cornyn is going to get one giant shitburger of a race. After the jump is why I contributed another $25 to Noriega -- it has nothing to do with him winning the nomination.

Texas is fiercely independent and as a Montanan I appreciate that. Last cycle a whole lot of people from around the country threw down so Democrats could pick up a senate seat in Montana.

In my view, the only neighborly thing to do for all us not-Texans, is to step it up likewise for Noriega. So I made another contribution to Rick Noriega.

I remember back in the 2005 Paul Hackett Special Election, when the Texas blogosphere united to start a fundraising drive under the headline of calling Major Hackett an honorary Texan.

Claiming the title of an honorary Texan is no easy task, but sending some coin to Rick Noriega is a good start of those of us out of state.

An activist outside of Texas will never be able to do anywhere near what all of you are doing. So we'll contribute here and there and make phone calls and be damn proud to do what we can so that all of you can take back Cornyn's seat and give it to the people of Texas.

I'm not the only one pulling for you!

The only question is whether we carry the president and Noriega.

Thank you! (3.00 / 1)
We're going to be fighting with every scrap of support we can muster.  Your help is appreciated!

Disclosure: Former Political Director for Lee Leffingwell for Mayor of Austin ('09)

This may be a bit Off Topic, but i think you'll be OK with it. (3.00 / 2)
I mostly just lurk around here to see how Texas Dems are handling their current situation re: the national campaigns. I must say, i'm impressed. This website is so civil (compared to where i usually log in). Y'all seem to be motivated by the better angles of the spirit of the Democrat party, keep up the good work and a toast to turning Texas blue in November (or at least a blue shade of purple).

I belong to no organized political party...I'm a Democrat. Will Rogers

Thanks for your help (0.00 / 0)
I love the way the internet has brought us all together.  Now, every race is now a national race and we can see how our fortunes are tied together.
