Rick Perry has officially thrown his anchor behind the GOP’s sinking ship and endorsed Donald Trump for President. It seems after failing to be President twice, Perry wants to try his hand at not being Vice President. Good luck Rick, no one has ever accused you of lacking ambition.
“I believe in the process, and the process has said Donald Trump will be our nominee and I’m going to support him and help him and do what I can,” Perry said. “He is one of the most talented people who has ever run for the president I have ever seen.”
Only a couple of months ago Perry called “Trump-ism” a “toxic mix of demagoguery and nonsense,” and said that Trump was a cancer on conservatism. That cancer has now spread across the nation and Trump has racked up nearly enough delegates to clinch the nomination.
Hmmm. Either Perry had a complete change of heart or he is plotting to take Trump down from the inside. It wouldn’t be the first time Perry started at the top of the polls and ended in the margin of error — but this would certainly be his biggest challenge ever.
Trump has previously been dismissive of Perry and once tweeted that, “He should be forced to take an IQ test before being allowed to enter the GOP debate.” He obviously doesn’t feel the same about receiving endorsements. He told a crowd in Nevada that he “loves the poorly educated.” Apparently he thinks they are “the most loyal.” Well, I guess that explains why he trusts Rick by his side.
