Democrats at Anti-Trump Rally
anti trump
On Monday, lots of Democrats joined some 4000 to 5000 people who rallied and marched against the appearance in Dallas of Republican candidate for Demogogue-in-Chief Donald Trump. Present and former Democratic legislators spoke to the large crowd (including Roberto Alonzo and Domingo Garcia), as did DCDP Chair Carol Donovan. (Shown below, Rep. Alonzo at the rally with the Trump pinata.)

At the Rally Against Hate, Donovan said “Trump is a schoolyard bully who picks on anybody who doesn’t look like him! Stand up to that bully!”

She released this message to the media: “Republicans are attacking our families every day. This racist, anti-Latino, anti-immigrant, and anti-woman rhetoric has to stop. Texas Democrats know that we are a nation of immigrants and every child born in America is a United States citizen.

“Dallas Democrats are the champions of Dallas families and are committed to expanding opportunity for all. We believe that hate has no place in politics. That’s why we continue to fight for higher wages to help families get ahead, strong neighborhood schools for our children, and fair, comprehensive immigration reform that keeps families together and ensures a pathway to citizenship.”
