Who’s Running for County Chair?
At the end of June the Dallas County Democratic Precinct Chairs will meet to elect a new Dallas County Chair to replace Darlene Ewing, who will be resigning after ten years to run for Judge of the 254th District family court bench which had been held by the late Judge Jim Martin.
Any Dallas County Democrat can get in the race for County Chair up to the election. The party would like to host one or more candidate forums with any announced candidates so that Precinct Chairs (and interested Democrats) can hear them and ask questions. We will also post contact info for the candidates on the website and the Roundup. Please let us know as soon as possible of anyone else running. Three people (so far!) have said they are in. In alphabetical order:
Carol Donovan is an attorney, mediator, and fundraiser who has been a Precinct Chair and was the first woman President of the University of Texas at Austin student body. Last year she was the Democratic candidate for State Representative in House District 107. She has posted her County Chair campaign flyer and all of her campaign letters on her Facebook page at https://facebook.com/CarolDonovanforDCDPchair. Her email address is CarolDonovanJD AT gmail.com. Her office number is 214-823-1400 and cell number is 214-213-4575.
Johnny Jefferson has held various business management positions and is a Precinct Chair and Election Judge. His email address is JohnnyLJefferson3 AT gmail.com. His mobile number is 214-683-6957 and home is 469-206-7598.
George “Tex” Quesada is an attorney and fundraiser who has been the first Hispanic President of both the Dallas and the Texas Trial Lawyers Associations. His email address is texfordcdpchair AT gmail.com. His number is 214-307-5165.
We will post more websites or more contact information on these and any other candidates as and if it becomes available. Email me info to BillHowellDCDP AT yahoo.com.
