The first month of the Texas legislative session has surely out entertained even the most seasoned observer with the highest expectations. The open carry gun battles that have played out front and center took a back seat when a small group of fringe Christians shouted down Islamic visitors on Texas Muslim Capitol Day and one legislator made them pledge allegiance if they visited her office.
Imad and I also discuss the 2016 candidates who have ties to Texas and the fact that the state’s GOP Chair is stepping down and passing over Rick Perry and Ted Cruz to work for Rand Paul.
That may not be Perry’s biggest hurdle to the White House though, as a Republican Judge has decided that the corruption case against the Governor will proceed, setting up some very awkward timing should the former Governor pursue his presidential ambitions.
There were of course the expected head scratchers like Senator Donna Campbell pushing a bill to ensure the U.N. does not take over the Alamo.
Anyway, that’s enough teasers, listen for yourself and be sure to subscribe on itunes!
