It’s Friday! Time to comment on all the news that fits in a blockquote!

(Almost) all of the time I have invested in CWTV programming proved worthwhile this month, when Jane The Virgin (my new favorite show – and the Golden Globes’) used the return from their winter break to advocate for #immigrationreform. When existing immigration law threatens to pull the family apart, the show pauses and the narrator say, “Yes, this really happens. Look it up. #ImmigrationReform.” Jane The Virgin keeps on killin it.

Dogs are disappearing from Wise County. Seems suspicious.

If you think Texas politicians have big egos, check out Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi. While meeting President Obama in Delhi this week, he wore a pinstripe suit–where the pinstripes were his own name embroidered in tiny letters hundreds of times.

I’m going to need this film to come to Texas as soon as possible. “She’s Beautiful When She’s Angry” follows the experiences of everyday activists in the struggle for women’s rights during the second wave of feminism in the years leading up to Roe, and situates it within the current struggle in Texas (try not to cry when they show protesters in front of the Texas capitol, I dare you). Anyone else up for a trip to Oregon?

Ohio congressman Tim Ryan, an anti-choice Democrat, recently announced in an op-ed that after talking with women who have faced difficult circumstances, he has “come to believe that we must trust women and families—not politicians—to make the best decision for their lives.” With all the depressing anti-abortion news recently, it’s nice to hear that someone has actually listened to women and taken their experiences to heart. (Better late than never.)
