Left in Texas: Ted Cruz’in USA

This week Imad and I take on another full week of Texas political news. There’s some good, some bad and some just plain ugly.

We start by analyzing the President’s State of the Union and the GOP responses….Yes, there were at least 3 and 1/2 as Ted Cruz attempted to unsuccessfully delete his from the interwebs.

Perry and Cruz found themselves in Iowa yesterday preaching to the choir while Texans celebrated and denounced the Roe V. Wade on its 42nd Anniversary.

We’re looking towards some interesting ideological battles brewing at the Capitol¬†particularly with regards to local control. There is the budget item in the House that seeks to study earthquakes in North Texas after the City of Denton banned fracking and attempts by GOP legislators to overrule non-discrimination ordinances.
