One More Race

by: John Courage

Thu Nov 30, 2006 at 01:57 PM CST

(Even John Courage realizes that giving money is the most important thing we can do to help Ciro in this race! Join John, and help Ciro today! - promoted by Phillip Martin)

I want to thank you again for your generous support of my campaign for the 21st Congressional District of Texas and to ask you to make another commitment of support for my friend Democrat Ciro D. Rodriguez, currently in a runoff against Republican Henry Bonilla in the 23rd Congressional District race in South Texas.

The great nationwide Democratic Party victories in the House and Senate, as well as the governorships and legislatures of a majority of states, have given us all something to celebrate, but I want you to realize that the 2006 Congressional races are not over. Here in Texas we still have one more Republican to retire and one more great Democrat to send back to Congress.

The same August re-re-redistricting that changed my CD-21 to favor the incumbent actually put Republican Congressman Henry Bonilla of CD-23 in a more precarious position. Now Ciro Rodriguez, who ably and honorably served four terms in Congress before losing his seat in the wake of DeLay's redistricting scheme, is now on the verge of beating Bonilla in a Dec. 12 runoff and returning to Congress to truly represent the people of South Texas! But he needs our help.

I strongly urge you to contribute to Ciro's campaign today. You can do so online through the Act Blue site we've set up. Or you can visit Ciro's campaign website. (When you make a contribution please add 21 cents to your total, so we will have an idea of how successful our efforts to raise money for Ciro's campaign have been.)

If you live in or near Northwest San Antonio, please stop by Ciro's campaign HQ at 4435 DeZavala Road and ask how you can help. Wherever you live, you can make a difference from your own home through Online Phonebanking.

I hope you will join me in sending an honest, hardworking, grassroots Democrat back to Congress. And once again, thanks for your friendship and support for my campaign. I still believe that at times like these, Congress needs Courage, and Ciro Rodriguez has the courage.

Phillip is right...on the MONEY!! (0.00 / 0)
Also call your out of state friends and point them to Ciro's Website-- with their credit card in their hand! After all, this is a NATIONAL event. Even though Courage lost, he's still fighting them 'til hell freezes over-for Ciro, and fighting them on the ice-for Ciro.

I like your example dallasdonkey (0.00 / 0)
DVO's quote is my favorite quote.  We are still fighting, and then we're going to fight some more.  And today is a particularly cold freeze too.

Sonia, I will fight them (0.00 / 0)
on the ice tommorow morning.I've had supper with DVO, and he can kick ass. I want him in the trenches with us when we pummel them,or as we say in Jersey- "Kick 'em in the f___ing teeth".Even the women and children use the F word all the time, in every sentence, especially when "Republican" is uttered.I've had to clean up my f__king mouth.I hope DVO let's someone else run his campaign the next f___king time.

calling (0.00 / 0)
Making 100 phone calls is going to do a lot more than giving $10. People should do whatever they can do to help, but in an election like this, direct voter contact is going to do more than $10 when it's the big money that is running this election.

20 (0.00 / 0)
and that's coming from someone who already gave $20 through Courage's email yesterday. :)

Why not do both? (0.00 / 0)
Tis the season to give, and what other race are you going to give to unless you are in HD-29?

All I want for Christmas is another Democrat in Congress, so give some cash and give some time this weekend and talk to some voters.

The two aren't mutually exclusive and both are very very helpful.

I agree (0.00 / 0)
To each their ability. :) And I really can't say much as right now I can give money easier than phone calls seeing as I'm trying to write papers, tests, and graduate! Damn!

Though if I get finished, I will try to travel down to San Antonio or HD29.
