This election, Austinites will vote in many big races at the state and local level, from governor to Austin City Council. There are also races for several less-prominent, but still very important races for Austin Community College bonds, two spots on the ACC Board of Trustees, and the Austin ISD School Board.

The two ACC bonds on the ballot propose several million dollars for construction and renovation of campuses across Austin, including “repurposing…Highland Mall for a regional workforce innovation center” and constructing new buildings on the Hays campus. There’s also a proposition to raise the existing ACC tax rate by $0.03 by 2020.

There are also two contested seats on the ACC Board of Trustees. The role of the ACC Board of Trustees is to “select[] and evaluate[] the College President, and adopt[] strategic policies, priorities, and plans to direct the operation of the College.” Plus, there are five contested seats on the AISD school board, including one at-large seat that will be voted on by everyone, regardless of geography.

For those who are still deciding how to vote in these down-ballot elections, we’ve rounded up the endorsements of Austin’s major newspapers and activist groups, to help give some guidance. You can find them below.
