We're deeply saddened to have some truly terrible news to share. Annie's List executive director Grace Garcia passed away Monday afternoon after a fatal car accident in Waxahachie.
Garcia took over the statewide organization dedicated to electing women in Texas in early 2013. She was a San Antonio native who previously worked at the Department of State under Secretary of State Hillary Clinton. Garcia also co-founded an organization to help elect Latinas.
Our thoughts and prayers are with those who knew Grace. She was a dynamic, engaging woman who dedicated herself to improving the lives of others.

“Grace Garcia was the passionate, tough, visionary leader we needed at Annie's List. The best possible tribute to her life is to continue the work Grace started on behalf of Annie's List and women across Texas. Thoughts, prayers and privacy are appreciated at this time.”
