I want to go to Netroots Nation, and I need your help. I love writing for the Burnt Orange Report and being an active member of Texas' progressive netroots. We have so much to organize around this cycle – from the continuing impact of the omnibus abortion bill to the first truly exciting statewide candidates in decades. I want to be the best writer, the best activist, and the best organizer I can be – and going to Netroots Nation is a key part of that.

All of the skills I will learn will come back with me to Texas and to the Burnt Orange Report, where I will apply them to get the most out of the amazing platform that is this blog. I will use them to support candidates like Wendy Davis and Leticia Van de Putte, to inform and organize voters around reproductive justice, and to rabble-rouse around politics in general. A vote for me is a vote for Texas – so what are you waiting for?

More on what you can do to support me, and progressive organizing in our state, below the jump.Going to Netroots Nation is key to being the most effective writer possible. Burnt Orange Report is an incredible platform for organizing around reproductive justice, women's rights, and progressive policies in this state that I love. I want to make sure I can make the most out of the reach that I have, and help change Texas' future for the better.

When it comes to fighting for reproductive justice in Texas, I am in it for the long haul. I've made a career out of working for pro-choice women as candidates and representatives, almost all of whom were endorsed by Annie's List. I put my heart and soul into electing pro-choice women to office – and then helping them be the most effective legislators possible.

Going to Netroots Nation would be a great opportunity for me to learn and engage with other people who are doing similar work, and to expand my knowledge of best practices in organizing around progressive politics. And these tools will help me help Texas.

So please, vote for me to go to Netroots Nation, and then tell five friends to vote, too. This isn't just about you and me – it takes an organized effort of progressive Texans to make sure I get to the top five and am guaranteed a scholarship to the conference. I know that we can do it, together.

Thanks, y'all!
