Burnt Orange Report's Genevieve Cato is in the running for a scholarship to attend Netroots Nation, the national progressive blogger conference taking place this summer. But in order to get it, she needs your help.

Vote for Genevieve Cato to win the DFA Netroots Nation scholarship!

Your vote will help send a progressive Texas feminist to Netroots Nation, and put a national spotlight on BOR's work.

As we go into the most important election cycle in decades, online organizing will be crucial to raise support for candidates like Wendy Davis and Leticia Van de Putte. As Genevieve puts it:

As a society, we have incorporated an online presence into our daily lives. Whether through social media, online communities like tumblr, or simply as a source of news and entertainment, society happens on the internet. Organizing is about finding people where they are and having productive conversations and interactions that help spur others to act. If people are on the internet, we have to be, too. What's more, netroots organizing allows us as organizers to take advantage of the spaces online that allow for consciousness-raising across states and even continents. We are no longer limited by the number of folks we can fit in a room. If you're organizing online, you can literally reach millions of people in thousands of places. That is powerful.

Click here to vote to send Genevieve Cato to Netroots Nation. Share the link with your friends. We're counting on you to help give a proud progressive feminist the tools to organize for all Texans.
