Reminder: Democratic Senate Candidate Kesha Rogers Has Called for Obama's Impeachment, Execution

by: Katie Singh

This year, perennial candidate Kesha Rogers is running for US Senate in the Democratic primary. A recent UT/Texas Tribune poll found her leading the pack among Democratic senate candidates, probably because she has been on a ballot the most times. (Although it is important to note that the majority of surveying for this poll took place before the best-financed candidate, David Alameel, began running ads and sending mailers.)

It is important for Texas Democrats not to be fooled--Kesha Rogers is absolutely the wrong candidate to be the Senate nominee. Though she calls herself a Democrat, she associates herself with Lyndon LaRouche, whose LaRouche movement has compared President Obama to Hitler and has a history of violent, anti-Semitic rhetoric.

Rogers has also repeatedly called for President Obama to be impeached. In 2012, when she was running in CD-22, Burnt Orange Report also revealed that Kesha Rogers produced a campaign video that called for the President's execution.

See Kesha Rogers' reprehensible rhetoric below the jump.

As BOR wrote back in 2012, Rogers' campaign video included the following:

An inflammatory video produced by Kesha Rogers for US Congress (TX-22), calls for the execution of President Barack Obama. More specifically, the lyric in question is "His doctor should administer some pentothal of sodium". Sodium Pentothal is a chemical used in lethal injections.

In addition, Rogers has proudly campaigned with photos of President Obama with a Hitler mustache, and has compared the Affordable Care Act to Nazi eugenics policies.

It's unlikely Kesha Rogers will win the Democratic primary, but it nevertheless bears repeating: Texas Democrats should not vote for Kesha Rogers.

We need a strong candidate who will stand up for progressive values, and Kesha Rogers is not that candidate.

Truth (0.00 / 0)
Sodium Pentothal is a chemical that is far better known in as "truth serum" from its use in many movies. In a video that continually speaks of lies, it's far more than likely that is what its intended usage was referring to, but you knew that already didn't you?

Could be that Obama and the BOR could use some help in the truth department. It just sucks when the truth doesn't make good copy.

Stop the critical thinking. It just doesn't work with 99% of stories in here. Remember 2+2 =5 don't question it and definitely don't ask why.

This is rich. A democrat who can knows what Obama's been peddling is brown, stinks, and isn't chocolate. A democrat that understands history (what the Soviets and Nazi's did to healthcare in their countries before massacring millions).

Of course you guys wouldn't endorse someone with a hint of critical thinking skills and capacity to understand terrible policies.
