| In the November 2013 constitutional amendment election, Burnt Orange Report endorses a vote FOR Statewide Proposition 1.
This constitutional amendment authorizes the legislature to grant property tax exemptions for the surviving spouse of a member of the United States armed services who is killed in action, as long as the surviving spouse has not remarried. The tax exemption would be for all or part of the market value of the surviving spouse's residence.
This is an important part of keeping our promise to the families of our veterans who make the ultimate sacrifice in the service of our nation.
We enthusiastically endorse a vote FOR Proposition 1 in the November 2013 constitutional amendment elections.
Early Voting: October 21-November 1, 2013 | Election Day: Tuesday November 5
