|"There's bipartisan agreement that Obamacare isn't working...Democratic Senator Max Baucus, the lead author of Obamacare, says it's a huge train wreck."
This cow pie is an old Republican distortion of Sen. Baucus's words. He was actually in the process of theorizing about what would happen if the Obama administration didn't lay out clear goals for education in the program. There's no question Baucus is a corporatist deep in the back pocket of corporations (he played a huge role in stripping the public option from the legislation), but that's separate from Cruz's bald-faced lie.
"The president is quietly granting Obamacare waivers to big corporations."
Cruz is actually referring to very public delays, not waivers, of Obamacare implementation on all corporations. It's definitely bad policy, and has given Republicans a huge opportunity to pounce on the legislation's implementation, but Cruz is lying yet again.
"Teamsters President James Hoffa says Obamacare will destroy the foundation of the 40-hour week that is the backbone of the American middle class."
The Washington Post explains: "The union letter's reference to the 40-hour workweek refers to anecdotal reports that some businesses are pushing workers to part-time work because of the law's requirements. As we have noted, the evidence for this alleged trend at the moment is slim; no one will really know the impact until some years after the law is implemented. In any case, the employer mandate that supposedly was causing this problem has been delayed for one year."
Cruz is literally one of America's biggest liars. But the man may be so deranged - sharp, but deranged - that he can actually get himself to believe his lies. After all, Cruz is still pushing a threat to shut down the government if the Democratic Senate and President Obama don't agree to defund the Obamacare. And he confirmed on Sunday that he really does think President Obama will agree to defund it.
