Houstonians Protest Sale of CW to Koch Brothers

The right-wing Koch brothers are trying to buy up a media empire, one that is at worst likely to promulgate their extreme conservative views. One of the TV channels they've set their crosshairs on is CW-KIAH Channel 39 in Houston.

Yesterday, a group of Houstonians gathered to protest the Koch takeover. Photos from the protest are at right.

“We want the CW to be an independent, objective information source-not a tool of right-wing propaganda,” said community leader Roland Gonzalez, who spoke at the protest.  “We don't want The CW 39 in Houston to become The Tea Party Channel.”

Given the scarcity of mainstream media outlets, it's deeply disconcerting that the Koch brothers are trying to get their grubby hands on a sizable chunk of our mass communication infrastructure.
