Texas Drops to 48th in Voter Turnout

In a new report by Nonprofit VOTE on the 2012 election, Texas fell one spot from 2008 to 48th when ranked by turnout. Texas' 50.1% turnout rate for the Presidential election toped only Oklahoma, West Virginia, and Hawaii which rounded out the lowest turnout states in the country. Texas is joined by other populous non-swing states California and New York in the bottom 20% of states.
