This cycle, Texas Democrats face a number of crucial races that we consider must-win for the future of our state. To help these great candidates raise the funds they need to compete and win, Burnt Orange Report encourages you to donate to our "Burnt Orange to Blue" fundraising page on ActBlue.
Carol Kent is longtime advocate for education, running for HD-114 to continue her work advocating for students and teachers in the Legislature. Carol has a 20 year career in higher education working as a teacher and administrator at universities and community colleges, and is an active community volunteer.
In her first legislative session, Carol Kent co-authored a bill to provide tax cuts for small businesses and more money for hard-working teachers. Carol Kent is also a former Richardson ISD Board of Trustees member and PTA president. Carol Kent's experience with higher education is exactly what we need in this upcoming session, as the Legislature considers restoring the $5 billion cut from public education in 2011.
