They've met the minimum requirement -- so let's see how far we can stretch the anonymous donor's pursestrings! Please donate any amount today!

Yes, this is yet another AIDS Walk Austin diary. Friday there is another matching opportunity - and it is really fantastic. If the Walk as a whole can raise $5,000 then all donations will be matched. So even if you can only give $5, Friday would be a great day to do that, because it'll magically turn into $10. I've got a nice diary written up - with a U2 video, but if you just want to donate, you can do so here: my AIDS Walk page

Giving Because Caring Works. It really does work - this community shows it all the time. The Community Quilt series -- check out the comments from people who received one, it makes the feel better, just knowing people care. AIDS Walk Austin is thousands of people coming together to care about people, raising funds for agencies that help people out. And the people helped feel that caring, they know that all those people -- the walkers & the donors, care about them. Today there's a great opportunity -- if all of the people doing the Walk can raise $5,000, then all donations will be matched. So - please give Friday if you can, even $5. Because it'll be doubled. You can donate here at my AIDS Walk page.

And now, because it's Friday & I am who I am, here's a link to a U2 video:

Elevation -- that how it feels doing this walk. I've done it every year, and it always feels wonderful. That "woo-hoo" thing Bono's doing, that what the Walk feel like. It is happy & joyous & fun. And we really need to elevate the amound raised for the Walk, you know what budget cuts have been like, the agencies serving people affected by HIV & AIDS really need this money. You can be a part of that by donating at my AIDS Walk page

One of the beneficiary agencies is the Wright House Wellness Center: http://thewrighthouse.org/. They do outreach, case management, they provide transportation to medical appointments and provide other caring services. Another beneficiary is the Jack Sansing Dental Clinic, where people can get the special dental care they need. Please donate here at my AIDS Walk page, remember even the smallest donation will be elevated today.

Also, my friend Lisa made this gorgeous handmade quilt, that is being raffled off to benefit the walk. You can see a sweet picture of Lisa and her brother and enter the drawing here: http://www.asaustin.org/site/P...
