75% of Austin Voters Prefer November for 2012 City Election

The Austin City Council has made discussion of whether to move the 2012 municipal elections to November very short. Since we have not had a chance to gage the broader public's input on this issue, I'm excited to be able to bring you news that a poll has been conducted to find out.

In short, 75% of city voters prefer holding the 2012 municipal elections in November. Support runs broadly across partisan and local ideological lines. Missing a variable in the crosstabs (3.00 / 1)

Where are the "uninformed" voters we've heard so much concern about?

Not polled (0.00 / 0)

This poll is of regular municipal voters, not the general voting population. Seems to me that this group would be the more likely of the two to favor May, so if these results are strongly in favor of November, that's probably true of the larger population.

The poll wording on Q6 does skew towards November a bit, but given the 70-20 Q5 results, I don't think it is much of an issue.
