Austin's has planted over 165,000 trees since its grassroots beginnings in 1989. Today City Council will honor not only TreeFolks, but Austin's legacy of tree stewardship.

The City plans to read a proclamation at 5:30pm in Council Chambers, “Thanking Austin's Tree Champions” as well as hold a reception on the Mayor's Balcony from 5:15 to 7:15, in support of TreeFolks.

TreeFolks will be “partying” on the balcony and celebrating the many partnerships that have helped it succeed thus far, thanking its recently-retired executive director Scott Harris for 11+ years of leadership, and welcoming its new executive director April Rose.
