Not hysterical. Just scared.

The GOP has the entire state government in, quite literally, its hands.

Given the GOP's antipathy for all things "common good", they're not going to leave much intact.

It will be interesting to see how the Republicans spend this states massive surplus, after all budget deficits only happen in liberal states!

A $25 billion budget shortfall, given the unity of the conservative base I don't think we will see much progress.

for Democrats the session will be like watching a bad movie. With only 49 votes in the House, we're just spectators, and there's hardly anything that we can do to affect the ending. It will be a soap opera or a comedy at times, and a horror movie at others, but mostly it will be slow and sad.

Like all movie critics, we'll write about our impressions, complaining about all the bad stuff, and then we'll use our experience to try to write a better story for 2012 and the 2013 session.
