| What happens when you use local talent to produce campaign videos, host a local event and then share some online for people to send around their networks? An event hosted by Bill White's campaign called "Texas Filmmakers for Bill White". "I am Rick Perry" was released recently and has nearly 7,000 views already. This is one of films for the online meets offline event the campaign is organizing. Of course, the White campaign is also using a local icon to host the filmmakers video release. On October 5th, at 7:00 p.m., the New Leaders of Texas will premiere the short films with Bill White at Austin's very own Alamo Drafthouse Lamar. We'll continue the celebration at 8:00 p.m. at the Highball. We invite you to join us at the Alamo Drafthouse screening and the Highball after party for $100 a ticket. Showing the power of what happens when new campaign tactics are implemented together, the Houston Chronicle, Dallas Morning News, and several national blogs have reported on the initiative, and Rick Perry's campaign has taken a low-road approach by "expressing outrage" that independent Texas filmmakers would create unique videos about Rick Perry. This is exactly the sort of campaign tactics we need to see more groups and candidates implement. Tickets can be purchased online. |
