| Debbie Riddle, a Republican legislator from Houston, embarrassed herself and the state of Texas this week. The Houston Republican claimed that a terrorist plot exists where mothers are having babies in the U.S. and then sending them overseas to be trained as terrorists, and then coming back to "wreak havoc" in the United States.
Pressed by CNN's Anderson Cooper to cite proof, Republican Riddle could only muster a defense that a "former FBI official" told her of this plot. As odd as this all may sound, Riddle wasn't the only Texas Republican to make the same exact outrageous claim.
CNN's Cooper, sensing a really big pile of something that a bull drops often, interviewed a "former FBI official," who essentially confirmed for all of us what we already knew about Republican Debbie Riddle: the engine is running, but no one is behind the wheel.
Republican Riddle has been the benefactor of a nationwide spur of jokes surrounding her outrageous and ignorant claims this entire week. Debbie, I don't really care if you embarrass yourself, but please spare Texas the next time you do so. Thanks. |
