Rick Perry is the "Worst Person in the World"

by: Matt Glazer

Tue Jun 22, 2010 at 07:16 AM CDT

According to Keith Olbermann, the Countdown commentator, called Rick Perry the "worst person in the world" last night because of his double talk and policy to spend money the state simply doesn't have.

Olbermann did get one thing wrong. He said the state is going to have an $11 billion shortfall and spend nearly a $1 billion on ideologic textbooks. The reality is the state budget shortfall is actually closer to $18 billion. But what's a billion here or there when you want to spend over half a million of taxpayer money for a posh rental mansion.

Spending money you don't have. (1.00 / 1)
Wonder where he got that idea?  Maybe he's trying to catch Obama's 13,000,000,000,000 (Trillion)deficit. A couple of more billion and he'll be almost 1/1000th of the way there.

BTW unless Perry intends to rent the mansion for 50,000 months the half billion figure may be slightly off. Of course if he lives to his eary 4000's and keeps getting elected, who knows . . .

You've got to be kidding. (3.00 / 1)
If you don't know the difference between the federal budget deficit and the national debt, then perhaps you shouldn't post comments about matters of economics.

I stand corrected (1.00 / 1)
He has racked up only 1/127th of the total of the largest Federal budget deficit in history.  Is there a line item for green fees in the federal budget?

Governor Perry should be proud (3.00 / 1)
earning the Worst Person in the World award is not an easy distinction to achieve.
