Thank You Rand Paul

by: Libby Shaw

Fri May 21, 2010 at 08:49 PM CDT

For you have torn off the mask and have unveiled the thinly shrouded southern Republican Party strategy, since the 1950's.

The GOP strategy, of course, includes blatant racism, exclusion, xenophobia, intolerance and hate. The toxic witches brew is mixed with an irrational hatred for big government.

Thank you, Rand, for shining a bright and stark light on your party's deeply racist and crony capitalism ideology.

When Rand and his Republican Party members shriek about how they must

Take our country back

It tells us that Republicans yearn to return to an era before the Civil Rights Act of 1964.  Sarah Palin has the same message when she refers to

Real Americans.

GOP scorched earth politics strategist and opportunist, Karl Rove, and his side kick, the hate talker and snake oil multi-millionaire manipulator Rush Limbaugh must be so very proud of Rand Paul.

Loving crony capitalism.

Rand Paul is a member of Sarah Palin's drill, baby, drill club.  And like Governor Rick Perry, Rand Paul loyally stands by BP. To hell with the Gulf coasts (now known as the Gulf of Oil) its people, wildlife, fish and beaches, its tourism and economies.  Let us all choke on a sea of sludge.

And God forbid should BP take responsibility for a calamity that it created.  Like Rick Perry, Rand Paul will blame the leak on God.

If it is un-American to call a lying liar a liar especially a big powerful gazillionaire lying oil company that destroyed the Gulf of Mexico, its environment and economy for decades to come, what exactly is American? Recent news reports in the New York Times, and the Houston Chronicle as well as Ed Schultz of MSNBC reveal that BP has been lying about the amount of oil leaked for 30 days.  It ain't 5,000 barrels a day as BP claimed.  It's more like 50,000 barrels a day and counting upward.

These teabagging crony capitalism worshippers and racists are stark raving mad, I tell you.   Karl, Glenn and Rush must have been smuggling brain cell killing LSD into their drinking water.

Our esteemed U.S. Senator John Cornyn must be drinking from the same water fountain for he stands by his man Rand Paul.

U.S. Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell, on the other hand, won't touch Rand Paul with a ten foot pole.  As one political analyst observed, endorsing Rand Paul is the same as hugging a grenade.  I guess Big John feels safe playing with grenades.

Meanwhile, back at the rational and sane 21st century ranch, most Americans want to move forward and as far away from the shameful pre-Civil Rights era as we can.  We also look forward to more government oversight especially where the Wall St. banks and Big Oil are concerned.  Since 2008 we've had a severe and crippling financial meltdown, a mining disaster and now a catastrophic oil leak that seems impossible to stop.   None of this would have been possible had Wall St. and the corporate sector had not been trusted to regulate themselves.

We cannot trust Republicans to regulate the corporate sector because the entire Party, from the extremist  teabagging far right to the right, has super glued its lips to the derrieres of the fat cats that rule Wall St. and Big Oil.

After his fateful interview with MSNBC TV host Rachel Maddow the other night, Rand is running around whining right and left and all over the place about how the loony left set him up.  I have news for Mr. Paul. We lefties did not make you believe what you do and say what you did.  That my friend came from your far right wing soul mates and an ideology that you have embraced.  Actually from our point of view the real world of far out loony resides with teabagging Republicans like Rand Paul, Sarah Palin and Rick Perry.

As MSNBC's Ed Shultz has stated earlier Rand Paul borrowed his talking points from right wing hate talk radio that plays day in and day out, five days a week.

Demagogues like Rush and Glenn that earn millions spewing hate and fear will stay right where they are and so will their eager and misinformed teabagging groupies.

We lefties wish the teabagging right all of our best with its diversity expansion project.
