Adding it Up
By Karl-Thomas Musselman
Some fundraising numbers from around the state.
Chris Bell: $25,072 of his $30,000 mini-goal reached so far. Donate before tomorrow night.
Barbara Radnofsky: $450,000 of her $500,000 first quarter goal reached so far. What the heck has that gal been doing? “Trial Dialing” for dollars is my guess. Maybe the rest of the campaign staff will be soon to follow, heh.
Kinky Friedman: $12,000 goal fully reached to build his campaign "hat" trailer.
David Van Os: No idea about his fundraising status, though thank goodness his site is going under a makeover. You can donate here if you please.
Texas Young Democrats: $755 of $5000 for the 5K in June campaign. Please donate!

Barbara Radnofsky will be a formidable candidate, and her fundraising success reflects that. Some of the others you mentioned, won't be, and their fundraising reflects that as well. The Democratic Party would do well to look for more like her.
Actually, Radnofsky has raised $450,000 towards a goal of $500,000 through June 2005. Considering she raised over $350,000 as of March 2005 (including money raised in 2004), she's only raised $100,000 in April, May & the first two weeks of June. She's on an extremely slow pace and will have to pick it up considerably in order to raise enough money to be a viable statewide candidate.
What Ever happened to Juan Garcia? (Ex-Navy guy)
I thought that he had some luv a few weeks ago...
Did he drop out of the race?
Supposedly he's going to be in my county's July 4th parade back in Fredericksburg, which makes almost no sense. I'll check in on that one. Last I heard was that he might be re-exploring a different office to run for.
Please see what you can find and do a post if you could... maybe we need to flush the guy out! He needs to go public if he will run. Time will get short very very fast.
Please keep us informed.
