University Democrats Endorse Jennifer Kim
By Byron LaMasters
The University Democrats endorsed Jennifer Kim for Austin City Council at a specially called meeting today. While many students will have already left Austin by the time of the run-off election, the endorsement of Kim means that the APC (Austin Progressive Coalition) will not endorse in the run-off and no APC flyers will be handed out for the run-off. The Austin Progressive Coalition forms to support the candidates endorsed by both the University Democrats and the Central Austin Democrats during city elections and Democratic primaries. All APC endorsed candidates and ballot measures won in the election on Saturday (Leffingwell, Dunkerly, Smoking ban and ACC).

Yeah... Leffingwell, Dunkerly and smoking ban were some pretty risky moves.
peter please don't spam.... if there is a post on John Kerry, which there is on occasion, you're more than welcome to bring up this issue, but it has little relevence as to who is on the Austin City Council or the DCDP Chair.
Seriously, Peter, don't be a jerk.
Personally, I think Kim would be a great choice. Has it been mentioned where she went to school? I'm suprised that the Burnt Orange Report would support someone from Texas A&M, wonderful school that it is.
Yeah, she received a master’s degree in Public Affairs from Princeton University.
I haven't endorsed anyone... I did not attend the UD endorsement meeting yesterday. I simply knew of the event, and called their president last night to get the results.
Yes Drew, I know that Kim went to A&M. I try not to hold it against her.
That's the worst thing she's got going for her. Other than being an Aggie I think she's great. And, to be honest, when it comes down to a lot of issues A&M and UT are in the same boat. The only difference is UT is cooler.
Agreed Matt... as many of you know UT and the Aggies voted together in the TYD elections. The Aggie Dems are one of the strongest student Dem organizations in the state (after the UT UD's, of course).
Any chance we might get some information about why UD endorsed Kim over Clarke?
