Republicans Call for Strayhorn to Resign
By Byron LaMasters
More GOP infighting. Yay!
The former Democrat now Republican Grandmother of Texas has recently taken great sums of money from trial lawyers and prominent Democrats. She also appears at fund-raisers for liberal Democrats and has hired a prominent Democrat for her spokesman. Mark Sanders ran the failed Tony Sanchez for Governor Campaign. Shocked conservatives are wondering about Grandma. [...]
This Rough Grandma needs to resign now and allow a non-political senior staff to finish this legislative session. Texans don’t need a Granny willing to sacrifice taxpayers and schools for a vain starlet ego.
Grandmas can be tough, but Texans really need a competent comptroller during this important legislative session who can be trusted to work with other elected officials in good faith.
I posted in Novemeber 2003 that Strayhorn attended a fundraiser for State Rep. Pete Gallego (D-Alpine) as a special guest. I was surprised that Republicans didn't attack her further on that occasion. Regardless, it's always fun to see Republicans fight. Good times.

Yup, they are right, Texans don't need to sacrifice taxpayers, they have already been killed!
Mark Sanders is a "prominent Democrat"? Then why did he serve as the Republican Party of Texas communications director, press secretary to the GOP Kent Hance For Governor Campaign and then-incumbent Governor Bill Clements, a press aide to the George Bush I presidential election and manage the campaign against Bob Bullock for lieutenant governor for Rob Mosbacher?
Do BOR posters have a sense of history beyond last Thursday?
Byron didn't call Sanders a prominent Democrat. He was quoting Janelle Shepard.
Well, if Janelle Shepard said, it must be true.
"work with other elected officials in good faith"=
toe the party line.
