Bush approval hits new lows

By Jim Dallas

I hear through the grapevine that there's a new Gallup poll putting Bush's approval at 45. That would be the lowest approval rating for Bush ever if this is true (current all-time low was 46 immediately after Abu Ghraib broke).

This would be confirmed by the CBS poll that came out yesterday which put Bush at 43, which was the lowest CBS approval rating since immediately after the first Presidential debate in which Bush looked insane, and would put him more-or-less tied with polls taken contemporaneously with the Abu Ghraib and 9/11 Commission doldrums.

To put it mildly, these are not the best of times for the President.

saw the same numbers on Inside Politics earlier as well. It's amazing that even two thirds of white evangelicals opposed congressional intervention in the Shiavo case.

You have to wonder where Bush's basement is. High 30s?
