Gold Star

Joe Lieberman voted against the bankruptcy-deform bill.
Good for him.

Not so fast, Jim...Lieberman voted FOR the cloture motion to bring debate to an end, so he, along with other Democrats who voted for it are just as culpable for its passage as are those who voted for it.
yeah... greg will have to work hard to convince me that we shouldn't support a primary challenge to Joe - he was the only blue state Dem senator to vote for al "torture" gonzales. Bleh!
Yes, Byron, but what will affect the average American more? Bayh's votes against torture but for credit-card enrichment, or Lieberman's votes for and against respectively?
Granted, Joementum still pisses me off in so many ways, and for Connecticut we could do a lot better. But for Texas, somebody like Joe Lieberman would be miles ahead of Cornyn or Hutchison (who both voted for both Abu Gonzales AND for screwing debtors).
All the aye votes:

well yeah... that's my point.. i have different standards for different states. I would be overjoyed to have a Joe Lieberman, Ben Nelson or Ken Salazar represent Texas in the US Senate. However, I think it's absolutely nuts that a Blue-State Democrat voted for Al Gonzales.
Don't forget that Lieberman initially won his Senate seat by running to the Right of Republican Lowell Weicker.
I wish that Rosa DeLauro would take him on next time around.
It's less his policies than his grandstanding with Republicans, and for Republican issues (censoring Hollywood) to get his visibility up.
His votes and policies aren't that bad, but he is constantly submarining the Democratic Senate Caucus, and the party in general.
Lieberman is still a turd....though for today...he doesn't stink as much as usual.
Lieberman is still one of my favorite senators
over at redstate.org an admittedly unscientific poll for "what dem could you stand in 2008 as pres?" has lieberman winning.
barack was a close second, last i looked.
take that for what you will.
adios

well... obama is a consensus choice then. i will support him for president whenever he runs.
