Newt Gingrich is blogging trying to get together Newt Meet-ups.
And darn it, I find this at once both fascinating and highly worrisome, speaking as a Democrat.
On the other hand, I'd really like to see the Republicans go back to the 1990s, when they were making sense. That would be good for America.

Newt's not alone. Former EPA Administrator and NJ Guv Christie Todd Whitman has started the IMP-PAC, in association with her new book "It's My Party Too".

I'm hoping there are many more of us out there, progressive Republicans who really do believe in many good ideals that once were defining principles of the party. We despise what the GOP has become. Already some brave souls in Congress are making noises about distancing themselves from the lame duck W administration. It'll be fun to see what happens.
