Something EPIC

By Karl-Thomas Musselman

In the year 2014, The New York Times has gone offline.
The Fourth Estate's fortunes have waned.
What happened to the news?
And what is EPIC?

Watch this future history of the media.
Think News. Think Blogs. Think Different.

And then see this cartoon, Fossil Fuel Terrorists.

Cute.

But it makes the fatal mistake of assuming that significant players in the current round of media dominance will be the significant players in the future. It also assumes a linear evolution of events based on existing technological trends. And, it further assumes a degree of electornic online media dependence that doesn't really exist in most of the world.

That being said, I think I will buy myself a non-networked computer and an analog phone before the Cylons arrive . . . *chuckle*
