Molly Beth Malcolm into DNC Race?
By Byron LaMasters
Maybe. Here's the AP Story.
Malcolm is the former chair of the Texas Democratic Party. With no woman running for DNC, there's a possibility that she could make a splash. I worked well with her when she was state chair, although the election results of her tenure (1998, 2000, 2002) leave something to be desired (although I don't really blame her for those defeats - I doubt that another chair would have done much better.).
Update: Greg shares his thoughts - that this is all part of the "Martin Frost Mafia / Conspiracy Theory". Mmmkay then.

I never heard of her. That does not mean she is a bad candidate but once I heard that Howard Dean does actually want the job, I am all for Howard.
Molly Beth Malcolm was a TERRIBLE chair of the party. What's her platform going to be? "I'll lose everything just like I did in Texas!" The only upside of her tenure was that she got the state party back in the black, but McAullife has already done that for the national party.
If you are looking for someone who can't craft a message, can't develop a coherent strategy, can't win races and looks goofy on TV, support Molly Beth. Otherwise, any of the other candidates would be universes and galaxies better than she would be...
I worked with MBM in the past and the woman is a lunatic. Micromanager, elitist and overall a real moron. She doesn't understand politics at the level that she's been trying to dabble in. She's also relatively new to the Democratic Party, coming into the fold during the 1996 Max Sandlin campaign. Most people know her as "Molly Mouth" and I've actually never met someone that had a positive opinion of her. Most people simply deal with her because they have to and then disregard her point and move on. I think that MBM as the DNC chair is the worst idea I've ever heard.
